Portugal - AirEco-Teens — README
Eco-Teens is a school partnership project for ages 10–14. It combines the E-Climate Game (40 mini-games across four modules: Air, Water, Soil, Glaciers) with a Classroom Activity E-Book (lesson plans, printables, rubrics). All materials are open access and designed for quick classroom adoption (45–90 minutes), including low-tech/offline options.
What’s included
- Portal / Website: central hub with module overviews, downloads and news — ecoteens.visiontree.be
- E-Climate Game: playable in class; educator/student moderation; reflection prompts.
- Classroom Activity E-Book: objectives, timing, materials, step-by-step, differentiation, assessment & printables (PDF + editable formats).
- LTT/Training materials: slides and worksheets used during trainings and webinars — see Presentations.
- Open-source code: public repository for reuse, localisation and extensions (README, build/setup, contribution guide).
How to use in class (45–90 min)
- Warm-up (See/Think/Wonder) with a short video or image.
- Play 2–3 mini-games from the chosen module in pairs; use the Game Reflection sheet.
- Connect game ↔ science with a quick concept map discussion.
- Create a 1-minute action pitch or 1-page infographic (use the rubric).
- Exit ticket (3 questions) or brief pre/post check for evidence.
Licensing & data protection
Unless noted otherwise, teaching materials are released under CC BY 4.0. Game source code uses an OSI-approved licence (e.g., MIT/Apache-2.0). Third-party assets remain under their original licences. No personal data is published; classroom images are consented or anonymised (GDPR-compliant).
